SECOM’s wireless ceiling-mounted motion sensor delivers 360-degree coverage. It is ideal for small- to medium-sized rooms and is more discreet than traditional PIR motion sensors.
If the device detects any movement while your burglar alarm is armed, it will activate your alarm system, notify you and your keyholders via the SECOM Smart Security app, and alert our 24-hour monitoring centre. Depending on your coverage, we will either liaise with you, contact the emergency services or dispatch a professional keyholding service to your property.

A motion detector, or PIR, is an electronic device that uses one or more sensors to detect movement. They are a crucial part of any security system and will raise an alarm in the event of a break-in.
Motion detectors use passive infrared technology to detect movement. Ceiling-mounted PIRs work the same as traditional motion sensors, the only difference is they are mounted on the ceiling rather than the wall.
Motion sensors usually come with a mounting bracket that detaches from the back of the device. During installation, a SECOM engineer will remove the mounting bracket from the detector before screwing it into the ceiling.
